(https://abaltatech.com), an emerging leader in the internet of car technologies, today announced that John Jasper is joining the company as President and Chief Operating Officer effective immediately. Mr. Jasper’s addition to the senior team is an important step in a broad strategy to accelerate our growth plans within the connected car industry. Our founder, Michael O’Shea, will retain the role of Founder and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Jasper has over 30 years working in, or leading, technology businesses in emerging market sectors. He has deep experience in navigation, telecommunications, retail technology and mobile.

Mr. Jasper started his career 30 years ago as a software engineer in the cellular industry where he was involved in the first launches of cellular service in the US. He then moved on to build big data platforms for major corporations before joining Navteq/Here where he ultimately became CTO/VP Software. Mr. Jasper then joined Digital Globe as VP Data Systems before switching to general management in 2001 as CEO of SEI, a leading services firm based in Chicago, where he transformed the business and delivered substantial growth. While at SEI, Mr. Jasper created two spinoff companies in cooperation with McDonald’s Corporation.
In 2009, Mr. Jasper launched a cloud telephony business which he successfully sold to a leading CRM company in 2012. He has since been consulting with a leading marketing agency in Chicago to launch a new business to provide technology enabled mobile marketing services.
He holds an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and is a co-inventor on over 20 patents.
