At CES 2016, Industry Innovator Debuts App That Incorporates the Popular Restaurant Search Engine Zomato into Its Car Connectivity Solution

Las Vegas, NV—January 6, 2016 — Abalta Technologies, Inc., an industry innovator in producing groundbreaking solutions to create the ideal connected car experience, today at the Consumer Electronics Show announced it is debuting an application that brings the popular Zomato restaurant search and review service to its WebLink® car connectivity solution.

Zomato, headquartered in New Delhi, India, is a Web- and mobile-based platform that allows diners to search restaurants, view updated menus, post reviews, make reservations, and order online. With presence across 23 countries, Zomato is one of the largest restaurant search and discovery platforms globally. Zomato entered the US market with the acquisition of Urbanspoon in Jan 2015. The service boasts information on more than a 1.4 million restaurants worldwide across its markets of presence.

Abalta has worked with Zomato to include the service as a WebLink® application that can be accessed via a car’s infotainment system.

Users will be able to:

Search for restaurants in their immediate vicinity or around a specific location

Search for restaurants by cuisine, price, reviews, and so on

View distance to nearby restaurants and access maps and directions to guide them to the location

Access phone numbers and other basic info about a restaurant

“Increasingly, consumers are enjoying—and demanding—information that can be accessed from their cars,” says Michael O’Shea, Founder and CEO of Abalta Technologies. “With our new Zomato app, would-be diners can search and choose restaurants while they are out and about, which is perfect for spur-of-the moment meals or to check out reviews on a café they just passed on the road. Zomato has experienced incredible success with its service, and we are thrilled to incorporate its platform into our WebLink® solution.”

“We are excited to partner with Abalta Technologies and enable restaurant search on WebLink® application. We are constantly looking at ways to make it easy for users to discover the best places to eat around them. Partnerships such as these go a long way in simplifying restaurant search and discovery for users.” says Pramod Rao, SVP Growth, Zomato.

During CES 2016, Abalta Technologies is exhibiting its products, including the new Zomato app.
